Ooi is a respected figure in the interior design world, having received over 30 Excellence awards, including the prestigious 2019 Industry Iconaward from The Brand Laureate Brand Icon of the Decade. Developing in the industry is important to Ooi – he was an active member of the Malaysian Society of Interior Design for many years, and was the firstinaugural member for the formation of the Malaysian Institute of Interior Design(MllD), where he served as President from 2022-2024. As anactive member in the interior design industry, Ooi is constantly workingtowards building the future of the industry and creating a positive impact.He continues to involve himself in various industry roles and activitiesand fully believes in the importance of nurturing the next generation in the Malaysian design scene. Ooi promotes creativity and designexcellence by serving as a jury member in many design competitions. His contributions include judging for Organizations Such as Lembaga ArkitekMalaysia(LAM), Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia(PAM), MillD, Star Property,and the Asia Young Designer Award (AYDA), among others. As a firm believer of quality, commitment, and continual improvement, he believes this can be achieved through fostering teamwork, harmony, and opencommunication. Ooi currently combines his 30+ years of experiencewith an enthusiastic, award-winning team – OD&A, to bring a fresh new dimension to interior design.
